Thespians - Seniors
Ellie Amezcua: Eleanor Amezcua is a senior at GHS and this is her… at this point, she’s lost count of how many shows she’s been in. She is very excited to work on such a fun play, especially as the light manager. When not in theatre, she likes trying to help people and she can be found procrastinating schoolwork. She wishes the cast and crew the best of luck!
Vincent Bedoy: Vincent Bedoy is a senior who has been in four shows. In The Play That Goes Wrong he plays Robert or Thomas Colleymore. In past shows he has played 6 gods also known as Drizzy Drake. His first show was Grease in which he was a featured dancer. He wishes his cast the best of luck with the show and future productions.
Tommy Bukowski: Tommy is a senior at Griffith and has had a blast doing lights for the GTC. He’s been in theatre since his freshman year doing set and stage and figured he wanted to try something new. Outside of theatre he is on the track and cross-country teams and is also in NHS. He hopes you enjoy the GTC’s production of The Play That Goes Wrong.
Ben Carrillo: Benjamin Carrillo is a part of the Griffith High School Symphonic band, where he plays trumpet. He played in the school’s marching band for the 2021 season, and it didn't take long for him to end up playing a halftime show in a stadium packed with over forty-seven thousand fans. Since then, he has played in the school's jazz and pep band, and now he is playing in the pit orchestra for the GTC spring season.
Catherine Cavazos: Catherine is a senior and she is very excited to work this season! In the past she has been involved in Grease, The Diary of Anne Frank, Charlotte’s Web, and Annie. Outside of drama, Catherine is in FCCLA, booster club, class council, student council, S.A.D.D, and is also on the Pantherette dance team. She wishes everyone the best of luck!
Braden Certa: Braden is a senior this year and The Play That Goes Wrong is his ninth show with The Griffith Theatre Company. This is also his very first show as head of The Cornley Drama Society. He wishes nothing but the best to the whole cast and crew for all the hard work that’s been put into this show. This show requires a lot of stuff that we haven’t done before, so it’s been quite the challenge getting everything ready and up to par to be able to perform. If you’ve come before you’d know the drama society has had a few incidents in the past involving casting and such, but I assure you that this show will be our best show yet. So, ladies and gentlemen, thank you for supporting us once more and I hope you all enjoy The Murder at Haversham Manor.
Abby Cotney: Abby Cotney is a senior and has been active in The Griffith Theatre Company since seventh grade. She has participated in the 2019 and 2020 middle school drama nights, and other high school shows such as Grease, The Diary of Anne Frank and helped with middle school productions as a high schooler. When not on stage, Abby teaches gymnastics and tumbling at Patti’s all American in Dyer. She hopes everyone has a great show and that nothing goes “wrong”.
Ari Estrada: Ari is a senior, and this is her third season with the GTC. She is very excited about this year’s musical! Aside from pit orchestra, Ari is in the Griffith Symphonic and jazz bands, playing clarinet and trombone. She also has participated in the Griffith Marching Band and the pep band. She hopes everyone enjoys the show because of the dedicated and proud work all the members have put into.
Sarah Issa: Sarah is a senior, this will be her fourth year in the Drama Department. She has always worked with the hair and makeup crew and is excited to continue working with them as the Hair and Makeup Manager. Aside from drama, Sarah also is in NHS and class president, a part of student council and plays basketball. She wishes the cast and crew good luck and hopes you enjoy the show!
Megan Land: Megan is a senior and has been doing set and stage crew for five years now. She’s worked on multiple shows including Grease, Radium Girls, The Mousetrap, The Diary of Anne Frank, Annie, Charlotte’s Web, The Brunch Club, & The 4th & 5th Middle School Drama Nights. Outside of drama Megan participates in track & field, soccer, the paranormal society, NHS, class and student council, and International Club. She wants to wish everyone good luck and thank you for coming out to support the GTC!
Brianna Lopez: : Bri is in her senior year! She is excited to be a part of the production of The Play That Goes Wrong. She is a Hair & Makeup Manager, and has been a part of hair and makeup crew since seventh grade! She is also a part of soccer, class council, student council, and Booster Club. She enjoys drama because she can hang out with all her friends and see the behind the scenes of the show!
Aurora Lujen: Aurora is finally a senior and it’s very bittersweet. She started out her sophomore year as a set and stage crew member and now she is a stage manager! This is her 10th show with the GTC and her final fall play with them as well, she is very excited for this show as it is a funny dramatic piece that was great to work on, she hopes that the audience has as much fun watching as the cast and crew had working on it. Thank you all for coming out, break a leg!
Alicia Martinez: Alicia is a senior and this is her second year and fourth show with the Griffith Theatre Company. This is her first year working as sound manager. When not participating in drama, she is involved in varsity softball and bowling, and is a member of National Honor Society, International Club, Paranormal Society, and student and class council. She wants to wish everyone involved in the production good luck and hopes you enjoy the show!
Katherine McCarthy: Katherine is a senior, this is her fourth show with the GTC. She’s done track since she was in elementary school and is going on her seventh year so she thought she should try something new. She is very excited to work again with Mr. Graff in set and stage crew and is hoping everything goes smoothly. She cannot wait to work on future shows and productions with the GTC. She wants to wish all cast and crew good luck and thank everyone for coming out to see Griffith’s production of The Play That Goes Wrong.
Sara Oprisko: Sara Oprisko is a senior this year and has been in nine shows including this one. Sara has acted in the 3rd and 4th middle school drama nights and was an understudy for The Mousetrap. Sara was also in hair and makeup for The Brunch Club and in video crew for The Diary of Anne Frank. She has been a production assistant for three shows including Grease, Annie, and now The Play That Goes Wrong. Sara is very excited to be acting in this show and she hopes you all enjoy it!
